How Miracles Happen Paint Co started
Maria Sotelo and Samuel Peña founded Miracles Happen Paint Co & Services on June 26, 2019 in South Aurora, Colorado. The shop address is 1462 S Laredo Way, between East Mexico Avenue and Mississippi, near South Buckley — the same neighborhood most of our first customers came from.
The name comes from what we hear on walkthrough day. A 1990s oak kitchen that looked tired on Monday reads like a remodel by Friday. That's the whole idea behind "Your Home Could Be Our Next Miracle": we don't gut houses, we bring back what's already there with prep, primer and the right coating.
The work has grown into ten residential services across three groups — interior (walls, cabinets, trim and doors), exterior (siding, stucco, decks and fences), and drywall (patching, texture matching and popcorn ceiling removal). It's all residential. We don't take commercial or office work, and we say so up front instead of quoting a job we're not built for.
We're licensed and carry a liability insurance certificate you can verify online before you let anyone into your house. We answer the phone seven days a week, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and take after-hours visits by appointment.

Co-founded the company with Maria in 2019 and runs the work on site: prep, carpentry repairs, spray finishing on cabinets, and the final raking-light walkthrough before a job is called done.
How we work
What we do differently on a Colorado paint job
Front Range weather and dry air change how paint behaves. These are the habits that come out of that.
We paint for low humidity
Colorado's dry air skins paint over faster than it cures, which causes lap marks and dry edges. We keep a wet edge and pace the rollwork differently than you would in a humid climate.
We don't rush drying time
Exteriors get 24 to 48 hours of dry time after washing before any coating goes on. A 2,500 sq ft exterior can't be done well in two or three days, and we won't promise it.
Line-item written proposals
Walls, ceilings, trim, doors and prep are priced on separate lines, with the product and brand named. You can see exactly what you're paying for and what you can cut.
Licensed and insured, verifiable
We're licensed and carry a liability insurance certificate you can check online before work starts. Ask for it — we'd rather you verify than take our word.
A straight no when it's the wrong job
We paint stucco, but we don't install or structurally repair it. We repair and paint siding, but we don't re-side a house. If replacement is the right answer, we say so.
You keep living in the house
Occupied homes are worked zone by zone so your family always has usable rooms. Daily cleanup, plates and hardware reinstalled, leftover paint labeled by room and color.

Where we work and who we work for
Our service area across the south metro
Aurora is home base, and we work out from there across the south metro: Centennial, Parker, Englewood, Lone Tree, Highlands Ranch, Castle Rock, Castle Pines and Greenwood Village. Aurora, Centennial and Englewood keep us busiest, especially 1970s–1990s houses with oak or yellowed almond trim that owners want taken to white.
Most of our customers fall into a few groups: families changing colors after five to ten years, owners with walls marked up by kids and pets, sellers getting a house ready to list, and buyers repainting before they move in. We also work with investors and rental managers on cabinet refinishing.
In covenant neighborhoods we help with the HOA color approval submittal to the architectural committee, and we schedule exteriors inside a workable weather window. April and October tend to be the best price window of the year for exterior work in the Denver metro; May through September runs 15 to 25 percent higher across the market.
Some jobs we turn down on purpose. We don't paint over active moisture, we don't paint hail-damaged siding that should go through an insurance claim first, and we don't take commercial or office work. Hiding a water problem under fresh paint isn't a service, it's a callback waiting to happen.
